John P. Uhl, 77, of 4258 West M-61, Gladwin, died Sunday, May 7, in the Midland Hospital Center following a short illness. Born in Beaverton Township on October 8, 1900, he had spent his lifetime here. Mr. Uhl farmed and was the night security guard at Gladwin Machine Products for the past seven years. He was married to the former Marion Drummond on November 19, 1921, in Gladwin. She preceded him in death on August 16, 1975.
Surviving are 2 sons, John Jr. of Midland and William of Gladwin; 2 daughters, Mrs. Nick (Jerry) Kanakis of Plymouth and Mrs. Grant (Mary Louise) Murray of Saginaw, one brother, Peter, of Independence, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. William Stevens officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemtery. Gladwin County Record dated 5-10/1978 Column - 3 Page - 2.
