John is the son of Jacob McIndoo and Margaret McDowell. He married Sarah Bevis and had the following known children: Margaret, Rebecca, Mary Ann, Nat, James, George, Joseph, John, Elizabeth, Jacob, Sarah, and Charles.

CHURCH:
1834 John and Sarah became members of the New Hope Baptist Church in Bartholomew Co., IN. They organized the New Hope Church north of Spencer, Owen Co., IN on his land. In 1868 a new Church called Union was built.
