He was a 1972 graduate of Hannan Trace High School. Dale worked for Peaker Run, Burke-McGuire Coal Companies, HiLo Service Station and was on the custodial staff for Gallia County Local Schools, with Vinton Elementary being where he last worked. He attended Macedonia Church. He enjoyed fishing, flea markets and riding motorcycles.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Swindler Cox;
a daughter, Dalberta Cox;
two grandsons, Trenton and Justin Briggs;
three brothers and two sisters, Gearld (Wanda) Cox, John (Nancy) Cox, Richard (Sandy) Cox, Shirley Stephens, all of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Sharon (Wade) Bishop of Jackson, Ohio;
several nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a brother, Stanford.
Service at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Wiseman officiating. Burial in Mina Chapel Cemetery.
