William's parents are John William Barnby and Marian Wilson Barnby. The 1871 England Census shows William age 19 living with parents and siblings in Hull, Yorkshire. The England marriage index lists William Ketchingman Barnby and Mary Ann Willoughby married on July 1, 1874 at St. James Church, Hull, York, England. Children: Alice Maude Barnby born in England, May 1875, married William Maclay Lyon in Kansas City Missouri on Nov. 11, 1903 Second Presbyterian Church. Charles William Barnby born 1879 in England. William K. Barnby was a carpenter and cabinet maker. The 1900 U.S. Census has his widowed mother living with his sister Clara A. Hartley and her family. According to the 1900 U.S. Census record William, Mary and Alice immigrated to the U.S. in 1890. He had a brother, Edwin John Barnby and sister Mary Harriet(Barnby)Firth who also came to the U.S. about this time along with several cousins. So far, Lazarus Barnby(16??-1712) is the earliest known ancestor to be traced back for this family tree.
