MRS. CHARLES FIRTH DEAD.
Mrs. Charles Firth died suddenly from heart trouble at her home, 118 Mechanic Street, about 10:40 o'clock last night. She was seriously sick only half an hour, although she had been in failing health for a year. She was down town yesterday afternoon and had baked three cakes yesterday. One of the cakes was intended for her son, Edwin Firth, who is at a base hospital in France.
Mr. and Mrs. Firth retired about 10:15 o'clock last night, and Mrs. Firth told Mr. Firth she was sick. He sent for a doctor and two neighbors, Mrs. F. J. Vollmer, and her sister, Teresa Ellison, of 121 Mechanic Street. Mrs. Firth died a few minutes after the arrival of the neighbors and a doctor.
Mrs. Firth was Miss Mary Harriet Barnby. She was born at Sperm Point, England, July 31, 1854.
She was married to Charles Firth October 21, 1870 at Hull, England. The Firths came to Emporia thirty-seven years ago. She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Sims, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Helen J. Bailey, St. Louis, and Mrs. Clara Berry, of Utah; and three sons, William Firth, of Emporia; Edwin Firth, in France; and Harry Firth, of Clifton. There is one brother, William Barnby, of Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Firth was a member of the Episcopal Church and of the Triple Tie Lodge. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

The funeral of Mrs. Charles Firth, who died Friday night, will be held in the Episcopal Church, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, and will be conducted by the Rev. Carl Nau. Interment will be in Maplewood. The casket will be open at the home from 10 to 12 o'clock, tomorrow.
