Aaron Finch died at the home of his son, Edgar Finch, of Conklln, Saturday morning, aged 86 years. He is survived by four sons, James Finch of Shlnhopple, Eugene Finch of Colchester, Edgar Finch of Conklin, and William Finch of this city; one brother Abiel Finch, and one sister, Mrs Polly Gage of Unadilla. He served in the 109th regiment in the Civil War. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian church at Conklin Tuesday at 1 o'clock. Burial will be at Conklin Center.

Aaron and wife Nancy were in Wayne Co, NY, in the 1850 US Census, sharing a home with Thomas Meaker, where it is believed that they were working on the Erie Canal widening project.
He and Nancy returned to Conklin in 1855 (NY Census).
Aaron spent nearly 2-years and 5-months with the 109th NY Infantry Regiment, Company D, alternately listed as either "Teamster" or "Waggoner" on different documents, and his son Edgar J. was granted an accrued pension in 1912, with the notation "GSW" indicating that Aaron had sustained a gunshot wound in at least one of the 109th's skirmishes.
Aaron's older brother Ezekiel J. (D-109th), as well as younger brother's; Thomas J. (B-137th), and Abial T. Finch (D-27th) all served in the Union Army.
