Also, while in Greenfield we found a record of John's will dated 30 March 1838, naming children John, Richard, Matilda, Vinson, Eleandor, Mary. William, and Sarah and his wife is mentioned but not named. It was witnessed by Benjamin Burdett and Lewis Cranfill. We found the land record for John and he was the original owner. He donated land for a school and on this land in 1991 was the Wilkerson Methodist Church.
