Alfred Perry Bourne, Jr., 71, of Blue Springs, passed away Sun., Sept. 23, 2012. He was born March 17, 1941, in Independence to Alfred Sr. and Thelma Bourne. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1959, and then joined the Navy. In 1964 he went to work for Trans World Airlines as an avionics mechanic and worked there until retirement in 2001. Al loved his fast cars and even faster boats. He always enjoyed time at the lake with his family and friends. It was their little piece of heaven on Earth. Al was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Norma Kidwell Bourne, and his father, Alfred Bourne, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Thelma Bourne; daughters Carrie McCartney and Renee (Ric) Brownfield; and son Darin (Erin) Bourne; grandchildren Mitchell, Danielle, Megan, Sabrina, Sydney, Daryn, Taylor and Victoria; brothers Carl (Cathie) Bourne and Don (Terri) Bourne; sister Cindy (Kenny) Walby; nieces, nephews and friends. The visitation will be Sept. 26, from 5- 7 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 27, at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution in his name to the American Cancer Society.
