She and Herbert are the parents of Millard, Ida Laverne, Haskel Lewis, Stanley Jewell, Rebecca J. and Roland. They lost infants Edwin, James and Julia, who were all stillborn.

Funeral services for Mrs Janie Smith were held Saturday at 2pm at the Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home. Mrs Smith, 66, Rt 1, Glasgow, died Thursday morning at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She is survived by her husband, four sons, Millard and Stanley Smith, both of Glasgow; Haskel Smith, Murray, and Rolland Smith, Florida; 2 daughters, Laverne Furlong, Bowling Green, Rebecca Bradshaw, Austin; one stepson, Marvin Smith, Glasgow; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Burial was in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
