Willis was born in Powderly, Texas, to the late Josiah L. Wilson, Sr. and Minnie Ethyl Smyers Wilson. He married Fannie Lelia Davis on June 8, 1940 in Jefferson, Texas. Willis retired from Gulf Oil Corporation after working over 41 years as a Pipeline Supervisor. Willis served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. His love and devotion for God, his family and others was exemplified in the way he lived his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Fannie Lelia; son, Willis W. Wilson, Jr.; and six siblings.
Willis is survived by daughters, Sharlett Van Winkle and husband, Jimmy, of Mexia, and Glenda Modisette and husband, Jack, of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, William G. Wilson, of Shreveport, LA; as well as other relatives and many friends. M10
