Almond Joseph Bola, 82, a life-long resident of Au Sable Forks, New York, died in the Champlain Valley Hospital at Plattsburgh, New York on Thursday morning, January 5, 1967, following a short illness.

Mr. Bola was born in Piopolis, Megantic-Compton, Quebec, Canada, on August 22, 1884, christened Joseph Edmond Beaule, the son of Jerry and Odelle (Gouppille) Bola (Beaule). For some 42 years he was employed as a millwright at the J. & J. Rogers Company in Au Sable Forks, having retired several years prior to his death. He was a charter member of the Au Sable Forks Council Knights of Columbus.

He was survived by his widow, the former Hattie Lashway; two daughters, Miss Mila Bola of Brentwood, L. I. and Mrs. Sylvia Cooney of Port Henry, New York and one son Ronald, of Au Sable Forks. He was also survived by two brothers, George and Edward Bola and one sister, Mrs. Delia Perkett, all residing in Lake Placid, New York. He was also survived by seven grandchildren, Sandra, Pamela, Joseph and Nancy Bola of Au Sable Forks; Mrs. John Kazlo and Larry Conney of Port Henry and Sr. M. Justina of Massena, New York.

Funeral services were held from Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks on Saturday morning, January 7, 1967, at 9 a.m. with the Rev. John Downs officiating, and Joseph Bola and Larry Cooney, grandsons of Mr. Bola, serving the Mass. Interment was in the Holy Name Cemetery at Au Sable Forks.

Pallbearers wepe George Bola, Jr., Victor LaFebvre, Richard LaDuke, William Nolan, Alfred Cadieux and Ernest LaDuke.
