Kareleen Southwick Christensen passed away at home after a three year battle with cancer, surrounded by family on Oct 6, 2012. She was born on December 6, 1949, in Ogden, Utah, to Dale C and Eathea (Johnnie) Southwick. She graduated from Weber High School in 1968.

Kareleen married her eternal partner, Brent J Christensen, in the Logan temple on June 17, 1968.

She was a dedicated loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She gave her time generously to her family, friends, church, and community. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints willingly serving in various callings over the years including Primary, Young Women's, Girls Camp Leader, Relief Society and guest Service Missionary for five years at Temple Square. She served diligently in the Relief Society Presidency until the day she passed away. She dedicated over 30 years to serving the Boy Scouts in Ward, Council, and Regional positions. Her hobbies included: Quilting, floral design, gardening, and spending time with her family. She had unconditional love, compassion, and a willingness to forgive. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Brent J Christensen, seven children: Brenda Doyle, Chase (Hilarie) Christensen, JoDale (David) Skinner, James (Kara) Christensen, Bridget (Jason) Grove, Casey (Kristen) Christensen, Kit (Lydia) Christensen; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; parents Dale and Eathea (Johnnie) Southwick; sisters LuDale (Don) Rose, Teela (Allen) Sorensen and brother Jess (Christy) Southwick. Kareleen was preceded in death by a grandson Taylor James Christensen, Father-inLaw and Mother -in-Law Joseph and Mary Christensen.

A special thanks to Intermountain Health Care, Intermountain Hospice, Doctor Hansen and staff, and the Huntsman Cancer Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, 11 AM at the Huntsville Stake Center, 6450 E 1900 N, Eden, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, October 12, 2012, 6 - 8 PM at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah, and Saturday 10 - 10:45 AM at the Huntsville Stake Center followed by funeral services. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Eden, Utah.
