Born in Avon on May 10, 1927, daughter of the late J. Frederick and Annie Erma (Obropta) Kruse, she was raised in Avon and had lived in Windsor before moving to Windsor Locks in 1957.
Eleanor was a foster mother for many years and cared for over 80 children in addition to her own four children.
Eleanor was an active parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and St. Mary Church in Windsor Locks.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Mary Morgan; seven brothers, Frederick, John, Albert, Ernest, Edward, Herman, and Paul Kruse; and six sisters, Evelyn Greska, Emma Laviero, Erna Kruse, Nellie Barone, Vilma Tower, and Geraldine Griggs.
