Elizabeth Vernon was born on August 9, 1875. Her parents were Alec Vernon, who was born in Scotland, and Mary Skevington, who was born in Erie Pennsylvania. Elizabeth married Alva Grant Bemis on July 24, 1895.

Below is her obituary. I am unsure what newspaper and when it was published, as I only have a copy from family.

Mrs. Alva Bemis of Greenbush Dies

Mrs. Alva Bemis, 61, died at her home in Greenbush at 3 o'clock on Friday morning. She had been seriously ill for eight months with chronic endocarditis. (Inflammation of the inner lining of your heart's chambers and valves)
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Schefield, pastor of the Methodist church in Clearwater, at the family residence at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Milo Cemetery.
Elizabeth Vernon was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 9, 1875 to Mr. and Mrs. Alex Vernon. When she was nine years old, she came with her parents to Greenbush. On July 24, 1895, she was married in that township to Alva Bemis, and has resided continuously in Greenbush since then.
Mrs. Bemis is survived by her husband, four sons and one daughter. The sons are: George, Charles and Alex of Milo Township and Clair of Greenbush Township. Her daughter, Mrs. Paul (Elva) Strombeck, of Bogus Brook. She also leaves seven grandchildren, two brothers and eight sisters. The brothers are: Edward Vernon of Princeton, John Vernon of Greenbush. The sisters are: Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Bergeron of Canada, Mrs. Abraham (Margaret) Bergeron and Mrs. Earl (Agnes) Henschel of Princeton, Miss Kate Vernon of Foley, Ida Kops of Seattle Washington, Mrs. Herbert (Anna) Munns of Moose Jaw, Canada, Mrs. Earl (Lillian) Axt and Mrs. Ernest (Jessie) Axt, both from Milaca.
Mrs. Bemis was a devoted wife and mother whose chief interests were in her home. She was a gentle, kindly woman who was loved by all who knew her. Hundreds of friends were in attendance at the funeral services on Monday.
