Mary T. Gray, 92, 1969 Hardwicks Creek Road, Clay City, widow of John L. Hall
and Orvel Gray Sr. passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012. She was born March 3,
1920 in Powell County to the late James Robert and Lillie Rogers Townsend.
Survivors include her sons, John Garland Hall, Carlton "Bezel" and wife, Joan
Hall, Boyd "Jug" and wife, Linda Hall, and Orvel and wife, Martha Gray, all of
Clay City; daughters, Ethel Irene "Hook" Combs, Georgetown and Lillie and
husband, Jimmy Thorpe, Clay City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren
and two great great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, Sept, 26 at Davis & Davis Funeral Home, Stanton
by Rev. Teddy Linkous. Burial was in Stonegate Cemetery with Derek Combs, James
Thorpe III, James Starr, Jimmy Abney, Homer Bryant Jr., and Barry Bryant serving
as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Vaughn's Mill First
Church of God, Virgil Patrick, Carl Ballard, Troy Brooks, Joyce Carl, Kenny and
