Wally was born on September 13, 1924 in Canora, Saskatchewan.
From 1958 to 1963, he served in the 53rd Field Regiment Artillery
(RCA), reserve army unit, in Kamsack where he attended Camp
Shilo and Camp Dundurn for training. Wally married, had three
sons and two daughters, and worked for the Saskatchewan Liquor
Board for 33 years before retiring in 1987. He was also an umpire
for softball, fast pitch and slow pitch. Wally has been a member of
The Legion for 33 years where he has helped with poppy sales and
calling Bingo for the Wednesday night games.
