Annapolis Spectator, Friday, Sept 23, 1898:
Death of Alfred Buckler at Dalhousie
On Friday last as Mr Alfred Buckler of Dalhousie was returning home, the barrel of the gun which he was changing from one shoulder to the other, dropped out of the stock, and striking the ground exploded the cap against a stone causing the whole charge to pass through his ankle completely shattering the bone. Doctors Withers and Robinson attempted to ease the pain but found it necessary to amputate the leg on Monday, but he died on Tuesday. He left a widow and large family. From Alfred Buckler (98737196)
