ECCLES
Lonnie Vaughn, 77, of Eccles, Raleigh County, died Tuesday in Releigh General Hospital after a long illness.
A 50-year resident of Eccles, he was a retired miner from Eastern Gas and Fuel Co., a member of UMWA, and a World War I veteran.
Surviving: wife, Hattie S.; sons, Jimmy and Lonnie Jr., of Eccles; daughters, Mrs. Hazel Clark and Mrs. Charlotte Wojach of Eccles, Mrs. Catherine Terry of Beckley, Mrs. Jaunell Evans of Glen Daniel; sisters, Mrs. Lissie Surber and Mrs. Roxie Hunley, of Middlesboro, Ky., Mrs. Althia Nester of Mechanicsville, Md.
Service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Melton Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Rujean Ayers officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Friends may call today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
