Fenton Gupton, my great-grandfather, was born on January 6, 1883, in Carlisle County, Kentucky, to Granville Manoah Gupton and Sarah Amanda Tucker Gupton.
He married Mary Ada Wheatley on December 6, 1903, in Cairo, Illinois. They had seven children. He died on December 6, 1949, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, at the age of 66, and was buried in Bardwell, Kentucky in Roselawn Cemetery.
Grandpa Gupton died when I was two years old, so I have no memories. He was a successful tobacco farmer and an entrepreneur.
