Elizabeth and Samuel moved around a bit, but they decided to live and farm in Childress County, Texas, do the fact that Samuel had a first cousin, Cora Whitehead and her family. Cora was the daughter of Louisa Carter Dewberry. Elizabeth in 1909 had delivered a baby boy known as T. R Carter, but Elizabeth developed complications and passed away. T. R. Carter was given to Cora to raise, for Samuel and his children couldn't raise him. So he was raised and had a family in Childress, Texas and died in Childress. After Elizabeth died, Samuel had given the responsibility to his oldest son Carl to make arrangements for transfer to Tennessee, as the rest of the family moved back to Tennessee right away.
