Henry A. Schurr, age 87 of 320 Albert Drive, Manitowoc died Tuesday October 2, 2012 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Henry was born March 15, 1925 in the town of Manitowoc, son of the late David and Emma (Schultz) Schurr. He attended schools in the Manitowoc area and graduated with the Class of 1943 from Lincoln High School. Henry married the former Elaine M. Meyer on June 8, 1946 at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Henry and his wife Elaine farmed in the Manitowoc area for many years. He was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, member of the church council, usher, greeter, and past member of the Manitowoc County Fish and Game.

Survivors include his wife Elaine M. Schurr, Manitowoc, four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law Charles Hougen, Manitowoc, Martha Schultz, Manitowoc, Henry (Betty) Meyer, Two Rivers, Lucille (Kenneth) Boeckman, Woodruff, Kenneth (Mary) Meyer, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survived. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers-in-law Mae (Elton) Hougen, Erma (Kermit) Johnson, Ruth Hougen, and Vernon Schultz.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Blvd in Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Runge will officiate. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Friday at the church from 9:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion given to Henry. The family would also like to thank Rev. Richard Runge for all of his visits and prayers during this time.
