Sister Lucile Kolbeck, 75, of Holy Family Convent,Manitowoc, died Friday evening, October 30, 1987 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Julian C. Resch, O.Praem will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
Sister Lucile, the former Lucile Veronica Kolbeck was born February 23, 1912 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Anton and Anna Wellner Kolbeck. She entered the convent August 28, 1932 and professed her vows on August 13, 1935. Sister earned a BS degree from Marquette University and a BS degree from Spencerian College and a MA degree from Catholic University in Washington. Sister taught school at St. John, Antigo; St. Theresa, Appleton; St. Willibrord's, Chicago; St. Mary's, Brillion; St. Mary's, Delaware, Ohio; St. Ambrose, Ironwood, Michigan; Rosecrans High School, Zanesville, Ohio; Catholic Memorial High School, Waukesha; Guardian Angels High School, West Point, Nebraska; Holy Family Academy at Manitowoc and presently was doing secretarial work at the Silver Lake College, Manitowoc.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, a brother, Anton Kolbeck of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Mackey of Manitowoc, Mildred Kolbeck of Green Lake, Wisconsin and Jean M. Kolbeck of Okinawa, Wisconsin.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 8 pm Monday, where a memorial service will be 7 pm in the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral home, Manitowoc is in charge of funeral arrangements.
