Mary Rose Stalnaker, 77, Kokomo, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 5:00 A.M. in her home. She was born April 8, 1934 in Liberty, KY to the late Alonzo and Lora (Coffey) Wall. Mary worked as a cook for 28 years at Artie's Tenderloin alongside her son, Danny. On June 3 of this year, Mary celebrated 42 years of marriage with Bobby Stalnaker. One of Mary's favorite pastimes was playing bingo at the Grotto.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bobby Stalnaker; her children, Pete Kelley, Kathy Bass, J.G. "Buck" (Kathy) Kelley and Danny (Robin) Kelley, 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Wall; a sister, Jean Tedder and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Brenda K. Bousum; brothers, Lewis Wall, Bob Wall and Jim Wall; and sisters, Dessie Bowley and Essie Ward.
The family would like to mention a special thanks to grandson, Corey Kelley.
A funeral for Mary will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo, IN 46901 with Mary's nephew, Mark Engle officiating. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery, Kokomo. Mary's family will be receiving relatives and friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. also at the mortuary. Contributions can be made in Mary's memory to the American Cancer Society.
