Frances Petroff Adams, 89, of Belpre, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Oct. 13, 2012.

She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Cassville, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Violet Loavoniff Petroff, Russian immigrants. Besides being a wonderful mother and wife, she studied and obtained her Methodist ministerial license. She ministered in Doddridge, Harrison and Preston Counties of W.Va. In the 1960's, she had her own radio program, "A Witness for Christ", broadcast from Morgantown. Serving her Saviour was the passion of her life. She was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three children, Susan L. Greenwood (Thomas) of Pearisburg, Va., John P. Adams Jr. (Debbie) of Rockport, W.Va. and Harold D. Adams of Belpre; two sisters, Violet Sala and Martha Burlingame of Erie, Penn.; one brother, Anthony Popoff of Erie, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Mark Greenwood (Connie), Joel Greenwood (Valerie), Rachel Greenwood, Timothy Greenwood, Denette Adams (Jake Dennis), Scott Adams (Shelli) and Cindy Smith (Sean); and eight great-grandchildren, Mark, Grace and Elijah Greenwood, Michael Adams, Nick and Jade Artherhults and Lacy and Michael Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, John P. Adams; and one brother, Paul Petroff.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Mike Towner officiating. Services will conclude with burial in East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
