died aged 80 at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs Anna Burrington, of 15-1/2 Severance st., following a short illness; born in Charlemont; attended Heath schools, graduated Arms Academy in 1893; taught in Heath for many years; married Oct 14, 1914 Orman Hicks of North Adams, he died 1936; married John H Temple of Shelburne Falls on Dec. 8, 1937 who died May 28, 1940; she returned to Heath in 1942 to reside at the Burrington cottage but since 1949 resided with her sister-in-law here; member of Heath Congregational church; leaves three step-daughters Miss Mabel Hicks of Milton, Mrs Esther Anderson and Miss Barbara Temple of Shelburne Falls, two step-sons Rev Clarence O Hicks of Boston and Dr John B Temple of Shelburne Falls, a cousin Mrs Jennie Duncan of Heath and several nieces and nephews; service from Smith funeral home; burial in North Heath [published Monday, December 13, 1954, Springfield Union]
