Schleh, Anton (March 2, 1876-March 25, 1944 –husband of Theresia Kaltenbrun [married June 9, 1896 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of John Schleh and Theresa Graf –born Biel, Baden –immigrated to the US on the boat Friesland departing from the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, arriving in the Port of New York on May 20, 1891 –applied for naturalization on May 24, 1904 –farmer in Town of Eaton –from April 20, 1897 to March 20, 1905 owned the 150 acre farm centered at 7012 Whippoorwill Lane in Section 21, Town of Eaton –on March 28, 1905 purchased the 128 acre farm centered at 6805 Lax Chapel Road in Section 22, Town of Eaton from the widower Anton Kautzer –his wife Theresa died on this farm on May 31, 1925 –Anton lived on this farm until his death in 1944 –after Anton’s death, his farm at 6805 Lax Chapel Road was sold to his son-in-law William Groh and his wife Frieda Schleh –for the brief period of Aug. 16, 1919 to June 3, 1920 owned the 170 acre farm centered at 20012 County C in Section 22, Town of Eaton –died from “myocardial failure –tyro toxicosis –arteriosclerosis”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 3, Row 8, Lot 10 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 6-356] [death record Manitowoc 37-250]

ANTON SCHLEH

Anton Schleh, 68, town of Eaton farmer, died shortly before noon today at the Holy Family hospital. He submitted to an operation earlier in the week.
Mr. Schleh lived on the homestead farm, now operated by his son, Richard.
A family of four sons and five daughters survive.
Funeral plans will be announced Monday.
