Kizzie Lockett-Caesar was born July 14, 1872 to the union of Telesphore Lockett and Corrine Joudain-Lockett in Four Corners, Louisiana. She was united in holy matrimony to Clabon Caesar February 15, 1888 in Four Corners, Louisiana and to this union, two children were born, Amelia Caesar and Jack Caesar.

Kizzie and Clabon moved to Port Arthur, Texas in 1915. Kizzie worked for many years as a Certified Mid-Wife and at the time of her death, she was one of very few African-American Mid-Wives in the city of Port Arthur, Texas.

Kizzie departed this life January 19, 1941 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clabon Caesar.

She is survived by her daughter, Amelia Caesar of Port Arthur, Texas; her son, Jack Caesar (Retta) of Port Arthur, Texas; 6 sisters, Sadie Lockett, Jeanette Lockett, Clementine Lockett-Johnson, Carmelitte Lockett, and Phyllis Lockett-Johnson; 4 brothers, Lawrence Lockett, Sr., Alex Lockett, Edward Lockett, Peter Lockett, and Millet Lockett; and 10 grandchildren, Sedonia Jack-Williams, Robert Louis Caesar (Esther), Octavia Caesar-Hall (Richard), Clarence Charles Jack (Thelma), Sidney Joseph Jack, Donnie Jack, Mary Louise Caesar-Castro (Felix), Daisy Bell Jack, Anna Bell Caesar-Harris (Joseph), Ruby Caesar, and K.M. Caesar; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
