ALTA STILTNER FARMER
Alta Stiltner Farmer 96 years of age of Abingdon, VA, formerly of Grundy, VA, passed away Friday, April 16, 2004 at her residence. Born in Buchanan County she was the daughter of the late James Thompson Stiltner and Pearlie Jackson Stiltner. She was a member of the Macedonia Church of Christ, Abingdon, VA, a graduate of Radford College where she received her teaching degree. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Farmer; one son: Zach E. Farmer; three sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by one son: Charles N. Farmer of Abingdon, VA. One sister: Evelyn Broberg of Fairfax, VA. Three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services for Alta Stiltner Farmer will be conducted Monday, April 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home chapel with Evangelist Michael Trent and Evangelist Mike McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Active Pallbearers will be: Keister Skeens, Ty Redmoney, Tony Stiltner, Freddie Ferrell, Teddy Ferrell, Charles T. Farmer, Greg Ashley and William Ashley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Taw Skeens, Max Stanley and Joseph Norton.
