~Gladys Kent Worley~
Mrs. Gladys Kent Worley, age 91, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Autumn Care of Marion.
A native of Madison County, Gladys was born on June 25, 1921 to the late Robert W. Kent and Zora Payne Kent. She loved going to church and enjoyed beautiful flowers. She was a wonderful wife and mother and devoted her life to raising her loving family and they will miss her very much.
Gladys was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Winston Worley; an infant daughter, Robbie Ann Worley; a brother, Ralph Kent; and two sisters, Mrs. Arvele Lee Payne and Marylee Johnson.
Left to remember her are five children, Barbara Holland and her husband Franklin of Marion, Deborah Burleson and her husband Ray of Spruce Pine, Charles Worley and his wife Gayree of Morganton, John Worley of Marion and David Worley and his wife Amy of Marion; four sisters, Louise Brigman of Marshall, Wadean Lisebee and her husband Bill of Marshall, and Agnes Siprackio and Evelyn Yaber, both of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Doug Holland, Marche' White, Ricky Worley, Jeff Worley, Chris Worley, Tonya Williams and Melissa and Jill Tyo; six great-grandchildren, Corey Holland, Haven Worley, Savanah Worley, Kynzlee Worley, and Cristan and Luke Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service in celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
