Bertha Harper, 85, of Niles, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home.
Bertha was born Aril 1, 1927 in Otis, Indiana to the late Walter and Grace (Butler) Coursel.
On October 9, 1948 she married Edgar Harper in Valparaiso, Indiana and he is preceding her in death.
Surviving are four daughters: Georgia (Wayne) Clemons of Otis, Indiana; Annie David of Westville, IN; Carol (Tom) Bulington of Knox, IN and Tina Stacy of Niles, MI; three sons: Edgar (Karen) Harper of Mill Creek, IN; Eugene (Theresa) Harper of North Judson, IN and Mary (Angie) Harper of Michigan City, IN; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters: Helen Berndt, Marjorie Wood and Margaret Lewis; two brothers: Wallace Coursel and Alfred Jumche; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is one daugher: Loretta Brown; one grandson: Curt Wilson; one great-granddaughter Bella Back; one sister: Mary Haskins; and three brothers: Albert Coursel, Robert Coursel and Fred Coursel.
Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be missed by all who knew her.
