Mrs. Oates, 94-year-old resident of 108 South Hill St. in Faison, died Wednesday night at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
She was the youngest of 11 children born to her late parents, Stephan and Theresa Tamborine Liborio. She was the widow of Mitchell Oates and was a member of Faison United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael Oates of the home in Faison; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gordon Lancaster of Sunset, S.C.; and a grandson, Mitchell Cleveland "Cleve" Lancaster and his wife, Beth, of Houston, Texas.
