Note: Though known mainly as Annie, in the 1910 census, she is listed as Nancy S. Pendley. Her death certificate, in which her son, William Manson Pendley, was the informant, she is listed as Annie Elizabeth Pendley.

This raises the question as to whether or not her full name was Nancy Ann Elizabeth Stroud Pendley?

Annie Elizabeth Stroud married Benjamin Jasper Pendley, son of Bennett A. Pendley and Penetor Ellen Hisaw, circa 1877. Annie and B.J. Pendley had seven children: Mary Frances "Fannie" Pendley-Bircheat (23 August 1892-25 January 1936) married Thomas Melton Bircheat and is buried in Village Falls Cemetery in Alabama. Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Pendley (22 August 1890-12 April 1976) married Carrie Anderson and Jeanette Plyler, and is buried in Good Springs Cemetery in Good Springs, Walker County, Alabama, William Manson "Bud" Pendley (18 April 1879-1956) married Charity Lou Strickland, buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, Michigan, Louella "Lula" Pendley-Anderson (2 November 1888-2 August 1980), married Oscar Anderson, buried in Berry City Cemetery in Berry, Fayette County, Alabama, Jesse Murphy Pendley (16 May 1880-21 November 1968) married Martha Ann Ledlow, buried in Boley Springs Church Cemetery near Berry, Fayette County, Alabama. George Washington Pendley was born 2 October 1884-14 August 1974) married Mallie Shirley, buried in Whitson Place Church Cemetery in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, and Jackson Pendley (5 July 1896-31 October 1896). Annie was said to have died on one of the family's moves from Alabama to Missouri, and she was buried there. Benjamin Jasper Pendley is buried in Good Springs Church Cemetery in Good Springs, Walker County, Alabama.
