Mary Maurseth, 69, Ada, MN, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, peacefully at home under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley after a short battle with cancer.
Mary was born in Ada, on February 19, 1943, to Bennie and Esther (Blake) Aanenson. She graduated from Twin Valley High School, Twin Valley, MN, in 1961. Mary was united in marriage to Ronald Hiltwein, they had four children. On September 17, 1982, she married James Maurseth in Sisseton, SD.
Mary worked as an aide in the Twin Valley Nursing home for many years. She then leased her own café, Mary's Korner Kitchen, in Kindred, ND, until 1996. Mary and Jim then moved to Ada, where they purchased and lived in Mary's parent's house. She worked at the Ada VFW as a cook for a short time. Mary then began working at Ralph's Food Pride Grocery as a baker. She continued to work there until her retirement in September of 2011.
Throughout her lifetime; she enjoyed raising four wonderful children. Mary liked to collect music boxes of all types. She was very proud of her beautiful yard, especially her flowers. Mary also loved trips to Deadwood, SD, with Jim; where they enjoyed time with great friends they had met over the years.
Mary is survived by her husband of thirty years, James, Ada, MN, sons: Robert (Brenda) Hiltwein, Ada, MN, Ralph (Yolanda) Hiltwein, Westcliff, CO, daughters: Michelle (Jeff Eberhardt) Robertsdahl, Fargo, ND, Mellonie (Todd Torfin) Budke, Comstock, MN, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, one sister: Marge (Jim) Colbath, Minneapolis, MN and one brother: John (Sherri) Aanenson, Moorhead, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Esther Aanenson.
