Joyce L. Young age 63, of Ashland, died Sunday October 28, 2012 at the Crystal Care Center. She was born in Scotts County, Virginia, on July 13, 1949, the daughter of Edward and Gracie (Mc Crary) Carpenter. Mrs. Young had been a resident of Ashland most all of her life where she was a Homemaker. She had enjoyed bowling and doing word searches.
On October 25, 1974 Joyce married Gary Young who survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Michelle (Wesley) Metek of Ashland, Sarah (Frank) Stelzel of Connecticut, Cathy (Dan) Selters of Rootstown, Ohio; her son, Nathan (Stacey) Young of Ashland; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her sisters, Betty (Rev. Billy) Pall of Tennessee, Judy (Ralph) Sheaffer of Ashland; along with her brother, Larry (Betty) Carpenter of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, along with her twin brother and sister.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday November 2, 2012 at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Alden Theibaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help defray costs.
