Mary Reda Nelson was the youngest of ten children, born to Lewis Major and Edith Pearl Thompson on December 11, 1926 in Centralia,Kansas, and passed into the hands of our Lord on September 5, 2001 in Tacoma, Washington after a short illness. She moved to Puyallup as a teenager and graduated from Puyallup High School, and worked at Martins Confectionery in downtown Puyallup for a number of years. She moved to Tacoma and spent many years working at Steve#s Gay Nineties. Her life was filled with people and she was always happy to take care of not only her own family, but anyone who needed help. She is survived by a special friend, Raymond Boutwell of Tacoma, WA; children Sally Graves of Tacoma, WA, Edwin Reda of Tacoma, WA, Tony Reda of Spanaway, WA; two sisters, Sue Sanders of Lakewood, WA and Matilda Moyer of Centralia, Kansas; stepsons Gerald Reda of Tacoma, WA, Lewis Reda of Union City, CA, Michael Nelson of Sumner, WA, stepdaughter Peggy Anderson of Vancouver, WA; seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Marvin #Skeeter# Drew, and husband Tony Reda and Eino Nelson. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 10, 2001 at 11 AM in the Garden Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home.In lieu or flowers, please make donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Parkinson#s Association.
