My full name is John Aubrey Owen. I was born 1 August 1945, the elder son of the Reverend Douglas Aubrey Owen and Patricia Joan Griggs. I married Julie (Julia Margaret) Jones on 8 May 1971. We have two children and three granddaughters. I read Classics at Cambridge. I was an Under Secretary in the British Civil Service retiring in 2001 after which I ran my own management consultancy business and served as a voluntary Deputy Chairman of a large London housing association. I started researching my family history in 2002 and have several family trees on Ancestry UK. I am a committed member of the Church of England.
