I started researching my family history when my Mum said she didn't know much about her maternal grandmothers family. Since 2014 I have organised (some with help) 3 family reunions as these 3 family names have been in South Australia since 1839 (Dawkins), 1842 (McElroy) & 1852 (Finch).
I am adopted and have found my birth parents of which I am researching my blood lines. I did find a link from my blood line (Fathers side) to my adopted family (Mum's side), a little more than 6 degrees though as it was a few generations back.
I love connecting family and finding out stories about their lives. Really appreciate anyone who takes the photos of my ancestors final resting place. Love seeing their headstone pics (if any), grave and a distant shot if possible as makes it easier to locate should a loved one want to visit.
I don't live far from the Mitcham General, Mitcham Anglican & Sisters of St Joseph Cemeteries so happy to take any requested photos.
Also am adding the memorials (from council records) for these cemeteries - and research as much as I can (time permitting). Happy to change to correct info (as I do on ancestry) also transfer any that you ask for.
All I ask is that if I send extra info about a memorial you manage that you acknowledge that I have contributed that info. Researching takes time (as you know).
Cheers in advance ;)
