Bio

My Henderson Paternal Line originated in Caithness, Scotland and through the course of years, migrated to Edgefield, South Carolina.

When the Creek Indian Lands were opened to White Settlers in 1832 and Macon County was formed in that same year, My Family moved from Edgefield County, South Carolina to Macon County, Alabama, (by possibly The Old Federal Road, or The Montgomery & West Point Railroad Company) around what was once Cross Keys (Present Day - Shorter, Alabama). According to My 2nd Great Grandfather's (John William Henderson) Obituary, His Parents died in Macon County, I presume somewhere close to Shorter (Formerly Cross Keys) and are buried there.

I am trying to locate My 3rd Great Grandparents Graves as well as their Names as I do not yet know them.

The Children that My 3rd Great Grandparents had (that I know of) are:

1) James Griffin Henderson - b. June 11, 1820, Edgefield County, South Carolina, d. February 15, 1900, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana

2) John William Henderson - b. June 28, 1824, Edgefield County, South Carolina, d. December 4, 1906, Robinson Springs, Elmore County, Alabama

3) Millington Decimus Henderson - b. 1828, Edgefield County, South Carolina, d. January 1912, Gould, Harmon County, Oklahoma

4) Hillery M. Henderson - b. 1838, Cross Keys, Macon County, Alabama, d. 1907, Hico, Hamilton County, Texas

There is a 10-Year Gap between Millington & Hillery, so there could be several more Children unaccounted for?

Any Help or Information of this Henderson Family, including Names and/or Burial Location of their Parents would be Greatly Appreciated.

Sincerely,
Dan Henderson
