Bio

Working on cemetery documentation since 2021. I enjoy genealogy and study local history. I do something called "mowing the rows" where I walk cemeteries and photograph each stone in some kind of order to ensure that each memorial is documented. I do this because others who did this kind of work before me have helped my family history process of discovery. In my view, by doing this, I am doing a service for family history and genealogy recording memorials that may have been previously unknown. I care about historical primary source preservation.

In your communications with me, please be respectful of my time and energy - I do this as a form of volunteering.

My "home" cemetery: Vale Cemetery in Schenectady. I have spent a *lot* of time there. When I am of the mood, I might go to St John's adjacent to Vale. I also have done a lot of work at Park Cemetery in Scotia. I occasionally go to others to try and fill requests. I have painstakingly gone over filling in the photographic gaps in certain sections of Vale with a fine toothed comb, so to speak. I also fill in the gaps of GPS. I (and others) have photographed all legible / visible / ungated markers in these sections of Vale: AN, BN, EN, A, B1, C, I2, J, Christian Temple, the newest section of L4, W, V, U, T.

~~If you are a family member of a person for whom I have made a memorial, please submit a transfer request! I am genuinely happy to transfer memorials to family! I am generous about it and have no problem about transferring even if you're a distant family member loop
