Bio

There is little information readily available for those wishing to trace their ancestors who moved to East Africa following the construction of the Uganda Railway and even earlier.
One source of information that can be accessed locally is cemetery headstones and burial records. For almost 20 years I have travelled around this part of Africa and the information I have gathered is available for all on my website. Even this is a dwindling resource as many cemeteries are suffering from vandalism and neglect.
To ensure this information remains available after I become an entry in a register myself I have decided to transfer my data to this website.
I would also like to acknowledge the assistance I have received in this work by the late Peter J Ayres, whose research is available on http://www.europeansineastafrica.co.uk and Stephen J North and his two volumes of "Europeans in British Administered East Africa".
