The Oakwood Cemetery was Est. 1895 For more information about burials at this cemetery call Mora City Hall at 320-679-1511.The small sign on the front of this Oakwood Cemetery Chapel reads "Oakwood Cemetery 1941". I called a local funeral director about it and he said bodies used to be stored in the basement of the chapel in the Winter for Spring burial. Funeral services would be held in the chapel.Now it's used for storage of lawn maintenance equipment.

In 1958 the Herb Carlson 60 acre farm, including home and buildings was purchased for $13,500.00. The cemetery started as a 5 acre tract. In the July 23,1958 Kanabec County Times newspaper article it stated that about 2,000 burials had taken place at Oakwood Cemetery in the past 30 years.
