This monument is posted outside the front gate of the Rhone American Cemetery. It was unveiled by the mayor of Draguignan in 2004. It reads that "Here on 16 August 1944 Dr Angelin German known as the Doctor of the Resistance buried the first two American soldiers who died in Draguignan for the liberation of France after having jumped into the skies of Provence on 15 August 1944" The cemetery at that time was an olive orchard and the olive trees are still there among the headstones. Dr. German would live to be 100 years of age and is buried in the local cemetery adjacent to the Rhone American Cemetery
