This Cemetery is very small and very old. Being only about 1/2 acre in size and considered full except to cremations. Vegetation, time, the weather over the last 150 years, and vandalism there are only about 20 headstones left standing and readable. There are family plots all fenced in and no readable markers. IF the marker still exists. Some of the Family plots are over grown with Sweet Pea vines. The cemetery is completely surround my hedge and Ivy. I noticed wooden markers hidden in the back of them.
I called the Nevada County Cemetery District and they have a list of names of the people buried there, but was warned that very few had markers remaining. The gentleman that I spoke to did not know who had markers & who didn't.
This cemetery gets 4-8 ft of snow in the winter.
