As noted above door, church and cemetery were founded in 1872, and oldest burials are 1872. Several very old white oak trees that surround the church building give the church its name. This side of the church with the door faces the highway.

Looking toward southwest area of cemetery from the trees by the south side of church building. Graves on the south side of the cemetery are on average somewhat newer, but all ages and styles of graves are scattered throughout the cemetery.
