Created in the early 1900s as Roxboro's public "colored" cemetery. Adjacent to Burchwood, Peace Memorial aka Peace Gardens aka City Cemetery aka Roxboro Colored aka Burchwood Annex.is still in use. After about 1955 most death certificates will give burial location as "Burchwood" but be aware of the racial designation on the death certificate. If it is non-white, the burial will be located in this section of Burchwood and any added memorial should be placed here. While both cemeteries are maintained by the city as a single cemetery, the burials are still segregated.
