Add PhotosIn April 1884 The Fredericksburg Star reported that the barn of John Anthon from Stafford was destroyed by fire and said that it was near property owned by Captain Dan Lee. They described Mr. Anthon as a hard-working man and in limited circumstances. Captain Dan Lee's property (135 acres) was called Highland Home and was west of Deacon Road. A current subdivision on the property bears the same name.
In the 1920 Federal census, William, Mary and John W. Anthon were renting a place on Leeland Road in the Falmouth District of Stafford County, Virginia. They were listed as farm laborers.
William and John Anthon died before the next census was published in 1930. Their sister, Mary Anthon was renting in the Falmouth District of Stafford County. The census listed her street as "Old Railroad Bed."
