This Cemetery is all but lost to time. It is located off Housers Mill Road near Fort Valley, Peach County,Georgia. The land was previously owned by Oliver Bateman of Macon, Ga. & was in the middle of a peach orchard. It was sold by the Bateman family. The land around the cemetery was subdivided and homes built on it. The cemetery was left untouched by the owners of the land & as of 2001 a fund had been set up by a descendant Jeff Shirah to get enough money to restore & preserve the old cemetery. It is believed to be no longer active. There are two Cemeteries named for the Shirah family, this one & one in Richland Co., South Carolina.
