The Burial Ground lies on Crag Road, beside the former Windhill Wesleyan Methodist Chapel and adjacent to the former Bradford Canal.

The chapel was built in 1834 and burials began in 1835. This chapel was replaced in 1865 by a more elaborate building. It eventually closed in 1961 and was demolished.

The burial ground was full in 1855. Burials continued in existing graves with the last interment taking place in 1918.

Note: some of the records for this cemetery may have been added to Windhill Cemetery which is on Owlet Road. Although the cemeteries are close (a few hundred metres), I think they should be kept separate as they are distinct entities. Also the numbering scheme in both is the same (letter for the row plus number) so duplicate locations would exist.

Visited this Cemetery in June 2017 and sadly it is now very overgrown and almost invisible, whoever was keeping it tidy before seems to be doing so no longer.
