- This small, old family cemetery is located on private land, but is easily accessible from Bolton Road and generally no permissions are needed. There is a rough road (navigable by any vehicle on a dry day) off of Bolton Road just past the marked cemetery location - about 50 yards down this road there is a steep uphill path to the left, to the cemetery entrance.
- The old sign at the cemetery, though now broken into pieces and laying on the ground, is believed to read Munroe Cemetery, which is what some older local residents call it. Although most of the legible gravestones are for the surname Williams, the cemetery is on land that was originally granted to James A. Munroe, son of Malcolm Munroe (both of North Carolina) in 1853. M.J. (Martha Jane) Williams, nee Munroe, was the daughter of James A. Munroe and married W.C. Williams. Both are buried in this cemetery, along with many other Williams of that line. But it is likely that many of the unmarked field-stone graves are from the earlier Munroe family, including James and possibly his father and mother, who also had land nearby. The Bolton family, namesakes of the road on which the cemetery is located, were also related to the Malcolm Munroe family, via his son (and brother of James) Colin A. Munroe.
