Cemetery located on site of original White Clay Creek Presbyterian church structure in 1721 at what is now the Village of Drummond Hill
A new church and cemetery (in current use) was constructed in 1752 about mile south.
Both cemeteries (old and new) were in use simultaneously for a period of time during the late 1700's and early 1800's.
Use of the Old White Clay Creek Presbyterian cemetery at the village of Drummond Hill was eventually discontinued with the last known burial to have occurred around 1816. Most of the stones have disappeared, the victim of housing developments, vandalism and neglect.
Old White Clay Creek Presbyterian cemetery at the village of Drummond Hill consists of 1.2530 acres and remains owned by White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church.
Gravestones had not been visible or accessible for several years (decades) until in June and July 2016, when the cemetery underwent an extensive clean-up and restoration project. This involved a team of professionals working over three full days accomplishing the removal of underbrush, fallen trees, brambles, etc. This cemetery clean-up and restoration project was financed by the White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, Newark, Delaware to restore dignity to this old burial ground.
